trpl3 The Zone of Malleable Fears’ is a mesmerising and satisfying listening experience.
The shorter form factor allows an opportunity for Pollard to create a variety of accessible atmospheres, intriguing sequences and haunting moods.
Even though I personally can never get enough of the smattering of Froese vibes, Pollard has definitely crafted his own unique vision here; a moody and hypnotic soundscape for his imaginary soundtrack.
All in all, a superb and compelling performance.
Favorite track: Institute of Shift and Validation.

“The Zone of Malleable Fears” was recorded between November 2022 and March 2023. Presented in a beautiful full gloss 6 panel digipack and a limited edition of 300 copies.
The release is based upon a storyboard of ideas that I created many years ago and I wanted to musically interpret those visions.
The resulting compositions have the feel and structure of a soundtrack with short ambient interludes and sequencer based pieces that encompass repetitive themes and sounds that represent aspects within the storyboard.

honestly this album takes quite a bit of time and many listening rounds to actually "get into". No doubt it is technically excellent, with more advanced composition elements than earlier records, however it isn't that easily accessible either. Perhaps this is actually a strength as each time you will listen to there will be more details to discover. Martin R

This album is utterly brilliant and is my new go-to as far as electronic music as a whole. I despair that I will find nothing else that will evoke the same emotions. It is hypnotic, intriguing and vivifying all at once. I have no idea how that was pulled off! BGE
